This pillar is responsible for building and managing Hermanas Unidas’ success through the emphasis of academic excellence. We thrive to encourage our Hermanes academically and create opportunities for them to further their education by hosting study hours, study jam events, and rewarding individuals with scholarships annually.

The Community Service Chair serves to empower new and continuing Hermanes by developing the skills necessary to encourage them to devote their time to their communities, whether it be here in Santa Barbara or other communities. Some examples include beach clean-ups, canned food drives, and bringing high school students from low-income neighborhoods to tour UCSB.

The Social Chair is responsible for building and managing Hermanas Unidas’ social pillar through the emphasis of networking events. The goal of this pillar is to promote bonds and relationships to strengthen our ability to succeed in our educational and professional careers. It emphasizes family ties to others for unity within our organization.
